CHANEL: Cruise/Versailles Ready-To-Wear 2012-13

On May 14, 2012, Karl Lagerfeld showcased CHANEL's Cruise 2012/13 collection at the Château de Versailles. Twelve months of planning and one week of set up brought about a presentation that boasted a re-creation of eighteenth-century styles. Denim panniers, ruffles & cuffs fashioned with gold sneakers and short shorts were paraded around three exquisite, restored fountains (located in the Bosquet des 3 Fontaines) to the sounds of M.I.A and Michael Jackson. The show's location and the nature of the collection could easily be fit for a modern-day Marie Antoinette (who'd be sitting front row, of course).
